Veneers

Bigger and Brighter Smiles

Dental Veneers are thin laminates that are custom made for the size of the tooth and placed over the teeth to improve the appearance, shape, and color. The most common dental veneer is a Porcelain Veneer, which consists of a porcelain material that is used to construct the veneer.

Porcelain veneers are most popular because they resist staining and have a more natural appearance. Veneers are typically chosen for individuals who want to improve the appearance on multiple teeth due to discoloration, wear over time, and chipped, broken, crooked, or visible gaps within teeth.

The preparation of teeth begins with removing a portion of the enamel from each tooth so the veneers can easily fit over the teeth without appearing bulky. An impression of the teeth will be taken to custom fit the veneers and will be sent to a dental laboratory for design. Once the veneers are received from the laboratory, Dr. Parobek will clean, polish, and roughen the teeth in preparation for placing the veneers. To ensure proper fit, the Dr. will continuously trim the new veneers until the perfect fit is made. A bonding agent will be applied beneath the veneer so it adheres to the surface. The veneers are then sealed with intense light to harden the bonding material.

To ensure veneers are the right option, 99 West Dental will do a thorough examination during the office visit and review treatment options to determine if veneers are the right choice, and if so, which type of veneer is right for you.
