Fluoride

Routine Flouride Treatment for Your Kids!

To promote the prevention of tooth decay in both young and adult patients, Dr. Parobek will apply a Fluoride Varnish during routine dental cleanings and exams. Flouride varnish is a highly concentrated fluoride solution that is applied to the surface of the teeth and remains adherent for several hours.

In 99 West Dental’s younger patients, a fluoride tray may be used as a treatment option as well. Fluoride trays are filled with a gel or foam and will be inserted into the child’s mouth for about 3-5 minutes. Once the tray is removed, the child is instructed not to rinse, eat, or drink for about 30 minutes after the treatment.

Fluoride works by enhancing tooth re-mineralization and is essential in keeping teeth healthy and resistant to breakdown and decay. Treatments or therapies can be found in various forms, with the most common form being drinking water. Other fluoride treatments may include; mouth rinses, fluoride toothpastes, gels or foam, and dietary supplements.

Our staff will evaluate the patient during the office visit and recommend the appropriate treatment needed at that time.
